- IVDP is basically a non-profit, non Governmental organization striving women empowerment towards holistic approach through SHGs since 1979. IVDP also believes in women development possible through their economic initiatives.
- It is self reliance and economic independence liberates them from the clutches of poverty and the total control by men in the family and society.
- Till date IVDP had promoted 15,820 Self Help Groups with a membership of 2,70,929 women
- The SHGs spread over Krishnagiri, Dharmapuri, Vellore and Tirupattur districts of Tamil Nadu.
- The SHGs have transacted more than Rs.13,561.12 Crores, since 1989
