A Journey of Healing and Hope
I am Malarvizhi, and I have been serving as an animator for a IVDP SHG for the past 12 years. Some time ago, I began experiencing health issues and decided to undergo a medical check-up at a private hospital. After several tests, the doctors informed me that I had a lesion in my uterus and advised immediate removal of the uterus. This news left me in a state of shock and emotional trauma.
Around the same time, I learned that the IVDP was conducting HPV cancer screening camps and referring HPV-positive cases for advanced treatment at St. John’s Medical College Hospital in Bengaluru, all at the cost of IVDP.
Without delay, I approached the Founder President of IVDP and participated in the HPV screening camp held at St. Louis Hospital, Krishnagiri. After my screening results came in, I was referred to St. John’s Hospital in Bengaluru for further diagnosis and treatment.
At St. John’s, I underwent a series of detailed medical examinations. The doctors diagnosed the issue accurately and, rather than removing the uterus entirely, they successfully removed the lesion through surgery. Following the operation, I received both radiation therapy and chemotherapy. Thanks to this treatment, my uterus was saved. Today, I am free from pain and have not faced any complications.
Throughout this journey, IVDP took care of everything—from arranging medical treatment to providing food, medicine, and accommodation, all completely free of charge. At the hospital, IVDP patients were given special attention and care. In fact, the support I received was so compassionate and attentive that even our closest relatives might not have provided such care.
Now, both I and my family are filled with happiness and gratitude. I have regained my confidence and strength, and I look forward to a long, healthy life. I am deeply thankful to IVDP and especially to the Founder President Sir, whose vision and efforts have changed my life.
